Question for the experts! I want to order my "starter" hive kit, as suggested, early! All of the frames offered seem to come with "Plasticell" foundations...is this a good thing? I thought I gathered in the last class the the beeswax ones, which need wiring, are better for the bees? Con someone shed light on this? Thanks! Todd
ReplyDeletePlastic, durable long lived no maintenance. Wax Foundation traditional requires some skill to put together,
ReplyDeleteNo right or wrong just be consistent, I have found mixing does not seem to work as well. If started on plastic they will ignore wax foundation and even harder to get them on plastic if you started on wax. One other note I have both white and black Plasticell and on occasion mixed the white and black. I found they would seem to prefer the color I started them on.
